As part of the Department of Education’s (DepEd-9) Brigada Eskwela 2026 program, the Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School (DPLMHS) Monday morning, June 1 mobilized teachers, parents, and stakeholders for school preparation activities ahead of the opening of School Year 2026-2027.

Themed “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” the annual five-day initiative runs until June 5 and promotes volunteerism and community participation in ensuring schools are safe, clean, and ready for learners.

Vice Mayor Beng Climaco, who attended the kickoff program, thanked DepEd-9 officials, teachers, parents, and partner organizations for supporting initiatives that advance quality education and strengthen community involvement in schools.

The activity also featured a symbolic turnover of donations and resources from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-9), Rex Bookstore, Tzu Chi Foundation, and the Federated Parents-Teachers Association of Zamboanga City, along with commitment pledges from participating stakeholders.

Present during the event were representatives of Assistant Majority Leader and First District Congresswoman Kat Chua and Second District Congressman Jerry Perez, Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roy Tuballa, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Amelinda Montero, and other officials from DepEd-9 and Schools Division Office, school personnel, parents, and education stakeholders.
