Mayor Beng Climaco has called for renewed vigilance amidst security threats in this part of the country.
The mayor has also urged the public to immediately report to authorities the presence of suspicious individuals and items including abandoned vehicles in their area for proper verification and to forestall any untoward incident.

“While our police and military authorities are doing their utmost best to keep our city safe, it is also the responsibility of the residents to support and cooperate with the security measures being implemented,” Climaco emphasized.
On Tuesday night (August 28), two persons were killed while over 30 others were injured when a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat as the town was in the midst of celebrating its festival.
Mayor Climaco has been frequently coordinating with the police and military authorities to ensure that the city is safe amidst security threats.
She stressed that security should be everybody’s concern, as the police and the military together with the local government unit cannot achieve much without the support and cooperation of each and every resident of the city.
The mayor likewise directed the both the police and Task Force Zamboanga to never let their guard down in light of persistent threats from lawless groups. (Sheila Covarrubias)
