City Social Welfare and Development Officer Socorro Rojas Monday addressed complaints of unfair distribution of relief assistance to flood-hit families saying all those affected – be they at the evacuation centers or home-based, will be given aid.
Rojas said the relief operations have started targeting those who have evacuated to evacuation centers following profiling, assessment and validation by the CSWDO.
However, she assured, similar assistance will also be given to all home-based families, as soon as the masterlist is submitted by the concerned barangays, who together with the social workers have validated the list.
“Tiene barangay ya puede ya sila dale el lista and so ay puede ya dale el assistance canila. We will already provide them with the assistance, it’s a matter of scheduling lang,” Rojas explained.
She said the challenge remains with the barangays, as the purok leaders should have the names of the residents in their respective areas and should be able to identify who are those affected or not.
She acknowledged that there are numerous complaints from the ground but the CSWDO head assured that each and every affected family will be given the assistance.
Rojas further suggested those who may not be in the list, to visit the CSWDO main office and present certificates from the barangays so that social workers can conduct validation and facilitate assistance. (Sheila Covarrubias)
