Zambo City gets 2023 Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (reg’l level)

The Department of Interior and Local Government-9 has named Zamboanga City as one of the 2023 Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG) passers of Zamboanga Peninsula.

In its Facebook post on January 14, the DILG-9 presented the SCFLG passers covering the different cities and municipalities in the region.

“This recognition underscores the unwavering commitment of our local government units to prioritize the welfare and development of children in the region,” the DILG said in its post. “With programs and initiatives aimed at creating safe, nurturing, and inclusive communities, Zamboanga Peninsula continues to set the bar for child-friendly governance.”

The SCFLG is awarded to cities and municipalities that have passed all the criteria set by the audit system subsequent to an assessment gauging their level of performance in implementing child-friendly programs and establishing measures which promotes children’s welfare.

It is a program implemented by the DILG in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). (CMO-PIO)
