The Tricycle Adjudication Board (TAB) of Zamboanga City is expecting more than 5,000 tricycle operators to renew their franchises this year even as it vowed to look into the 324 units that did not renew last year.
Edwin Duco, Administrative Officer of the City Legal Office made the projection Wednesday, saying that the Board had issued a total of 5,499 franchises, of which only 5,154 were renewed last year.
He said franchises that were renewed last year are expected to renew as well this year because they are operating. As to the 324 unrenewed franchises, he said the TAB will look into them as to why they failed.
Duco has called on all tricycle franchisees to have their licenses to operate renewed this year for a fee of only P350.
The TAB is open from 8 am to 8 pm on weekdays and 8 am to 5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays until January 20.
These are the steps to follow for renewal: 1. Get transaction priority number for 1 to 2 minutes; 2. Wait to be called for 3 minutes; 3. Submission of requirements for 3 minutes; 4. Inspection of the unit for 5 minutes; 5. Computer encoding for 3 minutes; 6. TAB Signature of Transmittal to the Sangguniang Panlungsod for 10 minutes; 7. Transmit to the Sangguniang Panlungsod… 8. Return to TAB; 9. Approval of TAB chairperson; 10. Transmit to LTO; 11. Back to TAB, and 12. Release of the franchise to the franchisee.-(Vic Larato)
