More modern PUVs ply Zambo City

Additional 2 units of modernized public utility jeepneys (MPUJ) class 2 operated by Zamboanga City Tri J’s Transport Inc. will start plying in the city, following its official launch Tuesday, July 9 at the Integrated Bus Terminal in Divisoria.

The 2 new MPUJ units will service the route Zaragoza Street to Guiwan and vice versa.

Also inaugurated was 1 unit modernized public utility bus (MPUB) operated by the Dumasapal Transport Services Corporation which will ply the route Dipolog, Sirawai and Liloy as part of the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LTRP) Rationalized Route.

The launching program was led by Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB-9) Regional Director Tommy Macadindang, Assistant City Administrator Rodolfo Saavedra II, IBT Supervising and Regulations Officer Rafael Derick Evangelista, ZC Tri J’s Transport Inc. Chairperson Jeffrey Basilio, Dumasapal Transport Services Corporation Chairperson Dindo Dumasapal, JMC Motors–ZC president Eugene Frederick Yap.

Mayor John Dalipe, in a message read by Saavedra, thanked the transport companies and other stakeholders for their commitment to government’s efforts to modernize the public transportation system for a safer, more comfortable, and more efficient service to the public.

For his part, Dir. Macadindang highlighted the government’s commitment to elevating public transport services to world-class standards. This modernization program is a testament to our dedication to providing safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly transportation options for our commuters.”

The new PUVs are equipped with state-of-the-art features designed to enhance the commuting experience, offering improved comfort, reliability, and safety for passengers. This initiative aligns with the government’s broader goals of modernization and sustainability in public transportation.
