The city’s Subdivision Enforcement Team and Local Task Force–Anti-Illegal Real Estate Practices (LTF–AIREP) attend a training-workshop to empower them in protecting Zamboangueños from unscrupulous individuals and organizations engaged in fraudulent sales of housing properties.
Facilitated by the Housing and Land Management Division of the City Mayor’s Office (CMO-HLMD) in partnership with the Department of Human Settlement and Urban Development (DHSUD)-IX, the activity, held Wednesday, July 3, aimed to brief the two groups on pertinent laws and jurisprudence regulating the housing and real estate industry in the country.
In his welcome message, Executive Assistant Engr. Al Urao emphasized the need for the teams to be trained in efficiently implementing relevant housing and real estate laws to ensure buyers are assured of the quality of their desired property and not swindled of their hard-earned money.
On DHSUD’s part, Legal Officer Atty. Althea Marie Pepito-Garcia cited Zamboanga City for going beyond the requirement of the then Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (now DHSUD) for the designation of an enforcement officer but also creating a Subdivision Enforcement Team to support such designated officer.
The Subdivision Enforcement Team was established pursuant to Executive Order No. JD 2023-077, while the LTF-AIREP was created on the basis of Executive Order No. JD 2023-078. Both executive orders were signed on September 5, 2023. (Claudine Uniana) (photo credits: Miljohn Mancao)
