City sends off delegates to Palaro with P11K training allowance each

Mayor John Dalipe leads distribution of P11K training allowance to each of the 180 members of the Zamboanga City delegation to the Palarong Pambansa, during the send-off ceremony at the Zamboanga Central School, Tuesday, July 2.

The city has shelled out a total of P1.98 million for the training allowance which covers the food expenses of the athletes’ local training held June 13 to July 2. Among the recipients were 145 athletes, 20 trainers, and 15 members of monitoring teams.

In addition to the P11K allowance each, the athletes are also expected to receive P6K each as an incentive allowance upon their arrival in Cebu City, host of this year’s Palarong Pambansa set from July 11 to 17.

These athletes and their support teams were the winners during the Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Athletic Association (ZPRAA) Qualifying Meet held in the city last April 22-28.

Mayor Dalipe wished the athletes the best of luck as he urged them to perform their best during the week-long sports competition in Cebu City.

Joining the mayor during the send-off ceremony were Councilor Al-Jihan Edding, City Division Sports Officer Dr. Jane Dela Torre, Tugbungan Elementary School Principal Maria Lucia Rebollos, Zamboanga Central School Principal Daph Villanueva among others. (with reports from Bernadeth Lazaro)
