TF Karne, BMIC pax check meat vendors’ law compliance

As part of the 16th Basic Meat Inspection Course (BMIC), the Task Force Karne Core Group of the Office of the City Veterinarian, in collaboration with the National Meat Inspection Service, conducted an enforcement activity with BMIC participants at the Sta. Cruz Commercial Complex Tuesday, June 25.

The participants were oriented and familiarized with proper Post-Meat Establishment Control in the meat market.

The enforcement activity covered the chicken, pork, beef, and carabeef sections of the Sta. Cruz Commercial Complex.

Emphasis was placed on regulatory and statutory laws related to meat inspection, including the hygienic handling of fresh, chilled, thawed, and frozen meat, and the display of Meat Inspection Certificates (MIC).

This ensures that the meat sold is safe, wholesome, and fit for the consuming public. (OCVET)
