Dalipe officiates mass wedding

Mayor John Dalipe officiates the wedding of 235 couples at the City Coliseum in Tetuan Thursday, May 30, highlighting the city government’s commitment to supporting its residents in building stronger families and communities.

Facilitated by the City Civil Registrar’s Office in collaboration with the Housing and Land Management Division, the mass wedding, the first under the Dalipe administration, was made possible through the concerted efforts of Mayor John Dalipe and Majority Leader and District II Congressman Mannix Dalipe.

The couples were members of Homeowners and Urban Poor Associations in the city.

Standing as witnesses to the blissful event were Vice Mayor Josephine Pareja, Councilors Jordan Evangelista, Al-Jihan Edding, Jimmy Villaflores, Vincent Paul Elago, Jerome Santos, and Carol Julianne Dalipe. Also present were City Civil Ma. Socorro Rojas, and City Planning and Development Coordinator Ma. Luz Agbayani, among others.

Adding joy to celebration was the presentation of cash gifts to the youngest and oldest couples who received P5K each, while two couples with the most number of children were given P10K each. A couple recognized for the longest years of living together also received P10K.

In addition, Congressman Mannix Dalipe announced his commitment to support the newlyweds by including them in the Ayuda sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP), which will provide each couple with P3K cash assistance.

Helping facilitate the event were Executive Assistants Marissa Aizon, Amado Natividad Jr., Roy Albert Venus, Al Urao, and Gio Perez, along with personnel from various government offices including the City Mayor’s Office and Housing Division. (Bernadeth Lazaro) (photo credits: Kathy Wee Sit)
