The Local Youth Development Office under the City Social Welfare and Development Office (LYDO-CSWDO) with the Pag-Asa Youth Association of the Philippines (PYAP) Zamboanga City Federation conducted its first summer youth camp entitled Campamento de Jovenes 2022 with the theme: Jovenes: Get Engaged! Be Heard! last April 28-29, 2022 at a local resort.
Attended by PYAP members from the various barangays in the city, the camp capacitated its members on topics of peace, youth participation, gender and inclusivity, and disaster risk reduction.
This event was supported by the Norwegian Embassy in Manila and the International Organization for Migration of the United Nations (IOM – UN Migration) Zamboanga Satellite Office through the City Social Welfare and Development Office.
PYAP is a federated youth organization present in barangay, municipality, city, regional, and national levels supported by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, City Social Welfare and Development Office and local governments.
It intends to serve as an avenue for the youth to raise and contribute to the solutions on issues and concerns that affect their sector. ( Michael John Dagandan Alipio/LYDC Member)
