Social workers undergo conflict management training

The Gender and Development Unit under the Office of the City Mayor organized a training workshop on Conflict Management and Skills for Social Workers aimed to promote effective negotiating skills.

The two-day activity, held August 28-29 at a local hotel was participated by social workers under the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO). This know-how on conflict management is considered very essential particularly for those working for the welfare of Children in conflict with the law (CICL).

Specifically, the training aimed to help social workers and law enforcers come up with sound and reliable assessment of child’s capacity to determine right and wrong and to improve the systems and practices in responding to children in conflict with the law.

This activity was held in collaboration with the CSWDO and alumni of USAID/Philippines’ Padayon Mindanao in support to peace building and improving life skills of vulnerable youth through conduct of leadership camps and literacy summits focused on promoting civic engagement and peace education.
