The City Health Office (CHO) is urging people in Zamboanga City to continue practicing the minimum public health standards against Covid-19 despite the eased restrictions and low cases.
“While we are happy our Covid-19 cases have been reduced with only five new cases, we should remain vigilant and compliant to the protocols,” Dr. Dulce Miravite said.
She reminded the public that some Southeast Asian countries are still on high Covid-19 alert due to the spread of Omicron variant with subvariants.
The city has registered 78 Omicron cases, of which 77 had already recovered and 1 died.
The city’s positivity rate is down to 12%, meaning 12 of 100 people would test positive for Covid-19.
“This is very low compared to the record in January,” the CHO head said.-(Vic Larato)
