The City Government led by Mayor John Dalipe Thursday afternoon hosts a special tribute dubbed “Despedida de Agradecimiento para los Retirados de Gobierno,” honoring 17 of its employees who retired from service between July to December 2023.
Mayor Dalipe and City Human Resource and Management Officer (CHRMO) head Roderico Jose Lucero together with the members of the PRAISE committee presented a certificate and the individual 201 file to each of the retirees as a show of gratitude for their dedicated service to the city government.
The retirees also received a cash gift of P5K and tokens from the Zamboanga City Government Employees Association (ZGEA).
In his message, Mayor Dalipe emphasized the lasting impact of the retirees saying: “As you transition to retirement, please know that your names will be forever remembered in our offices, and your legacies will endure in the collective memory of the people of Zamboanga.”
The chief executive acknowledged the exemplary contributions Carmencita Sanchez, who was the former City Agriculturist.
Also honored were Senior Home Management Specialist Ma. Lorna Bautista and Agricultural Center Chief II Silpha Ponce of the Office of the City Agriculture; Utility Worker II Jose Jabil of the Office of the City Budget; Utility Worker I Norbert Alonzo and Ernesto Casidsid, Construction and Maintenance Capataz Ramon Celso, Heavy Equipment Operator I Pilardo Gerolaga and Danilo Mejares of the Office of Office of the Cty Engineer; Driver I Robelin Atilano and Ruperto Atilano Jr, Public Services Officer II Engr. Aristedes Miguel Cabahug of the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources; Laborer I Rodolfo Gonzalez of the Office of the City General Services; Administrative Aide Alejandro Tan of the Office of the City Mayor; Stenographic Reporter III Louella Camins of the Office of the City Secretary to the Sangguniang Panlungsod; Livestock Inspector I Julieta Alfaro, and Farm Worker II Bonifacio Tubog of the office of the City Veterinarian.
Meanwhile, Lucero expressed gratitude to the retirees, acknowledging their hard work and dedication. “Words are not enough to express our gratitude for everything that you have done. Your dedication, perseverance, abilities, efforts, commitment, and untiring services have helped the success of this organization. Thank you for the inspiration and encouragement you’ve given throughout the years.”
