A total of 3,529 senior citizens from 6 east coast barangays receive P5.387M worth of financial assistance from the local government Friday, February 2, as Mayor John Dalipe continues to rollout the P1K quarterly cash incentive to residents aged 60 and above.
Mayor Dalipe led the distribution of the cash incentive in the barangays of Taluksangay (468 beneficiaries), Talabaan (979 beneficiaries), Tolosa (608 beneficiaries), Cacao (235 beneficiaries), Guisao (650 beneficiaries), and Salaan (589 beneficiaries) – all under field office 5 of the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
The Dalipe administration initiated the P1k per quarter cash incentive for all senior citizens regardless of employment status, membership in organizations and whether or not they are recipients of pensions and other remunerations.
CSWDO- Field Office 5 Aimed to alleviate the plight of elders in the city, The senior citizens expressed their gratitude to Mayor Dalipe for the continuous support and assistance extended to them. With the distribution of the cash incentive, they can better address their needs and enjoy an improved quality of life.
The City Government continues to work on initiatives and programs that promote the welfare and well-being of senior citizens, specifically aiding the elders’ needs and expenses. This demonstrates the city's commitment to honoring and
supporting the elderly members of the community, as they have played a vital role in the development and progress of the city.
Facilitating the distribution in the 6 barangays were Executive Assistants Amado Natividad Jr. and Edna Sumergido, personnel from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), paymasters from the City Treasurer's Office (CTO), Barangay Officials, and Senior Citizen Association officers.
