Mayor John Dalipe recently issued and executive order prescribing a temporary traffic re-routing scheme on all road leading to public and private cemeteries in Zamboanga City.

In his EO JD 2023-096, Dalipe authorized the city police director and the chief of the Traffic Management Group, Zamboanga City Police Office, to plan, adopt and implement a temporary traffic re-routing scheme for observance of “Todos los Santos y Difuntos” [All Saints Day and All Souls Day] on November 1 and November 2, respectively, thereby amending EO No. JD 2022 – 095.

The traffic scheme will take effect from 12 noon of Oct. 31 to 5 p.m. of Nov. 2, the time when people mostly Christian will be visiting the resting places of their dearly departed.

The traffic scheme will include the establishment of one-way zones and parking areas next to the cemeteries.-[Vic Larato]
