Dalipe turns over 7 four-wheel tractors to agri district offices

Demonstrating commitment to the agriculture sector, Mayor John Dalipe Monday turns over 7 units of 4-wheel tractors for use of city farmers under the different agricultural districts of the Office of the City Agriculturist.

Costing a total of P19.7M, the 7 units 4-wheel tractors were purchased by the Dalipe administration with the intention of providing farmers with mechanization interventions in a bid to raise production and profitability.

Of the total 7 units, 5 are Kubota tractors equipped with 70 horse power engines with implements worth P2.99M each while 2 units are equipped with 50 horse power engines with implements worth P2.39M each.

Recipients of the machineries will be the agricultural offices in Tumaga, Ayala, Culianan, Manicahan, Curuan and Vitali.

The tractors will be managed and operated by the city government through the City Agriculturist Office, based on City Ordinance 2010-156 which provides the mechanics for its use and mobilization.  

Present during the turnover at the City Hall grounds after the Monday flag raising ceremony were special guests Mayor Webster Letargo of Gumaca, Quezon Province and Quezon’s 4th District Representative Atty. Keith Micah “Mike” de Luna Tan, who are in the city for the MPBL Games at the City Coliseum in Tetuan Monday night; department heads led by City Administrator Atty. Wendell Sotto; acting City Agriculturist Arben Magdugo; Fr. Jose Filmore Calibo, who presided the blessing rites; the heads of the 6 agricultural districts and some farmer association officials.
