City government personnel composing Task Force Buenas aggressively pursues monitoring of night spots and similar establishments to check compliance with health and sanitation laws and regulations.

Sanitary Inspector Engr. Joy Sese of the City Health Office said a total of 61 establishments have been inspected since Task Force Buenas was created in May this year.

Of the 61 inspected, 43 were issued with sanitary orders for compliance of deficiencies or violations noted such as operating without sanitary permit and incomplete workers’ health certificates.

In a follow-up inspection in erring establishments at Gov. Camins in Canelar recently, only 5 out of 12 inspected have so far complied with the earlier sanitary orders issued, according to Engr. Sese.

“Rest assured that the CHO will continue monitoring of all mentioned establishments to ensure compliance to Presidential Decree (PD0 856) or the Sanitation Code of the Philippines, City Ordinance 500 and other related laws and policies,” the CHO representative said.

Non-compliance with the law after third sanitary order would result to closure of establishment, based on the law, she added. The TF Buenas was created through Executive Order JD-2023-038 and is composed of different agencies. Its purpose is to inspect and monitor night spots and similar establishments to check compliance of laws and regulations. (Sheila Covarrubias)
