The City Government joins the worldwide celebration of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (IDADAI) or World Drug Day Monday, June 26 which is aimed to strengthen action and cooperation in achieving the goal of a world free of drug abuse.
The event is celebrated among United Nation member states including the Philippines after the resolution was signed during the UN General Assembly on Dec. 17, 1987.
The celebration is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 264 and is gDILG memorandum circular 2023-088 which enjoins all DILG regional and field offices and the local government units to support the celebration of the IDADAIT.
Mayor John Dalipe meets with the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) Monday afternoon to get updates on the different efforts conducted by the city and other agencies in a bid to curb the drug menace.
Recall that Mayor John Dalipe has tasked all agencies concerned to intensify their anti-drug drive, as he expressed his all out support to all endeavors geared towards the goal of obtaining a drug-free city. (Sheila Covarrubias)
