Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Martin Delgra III is expected to visit Zamboanga City on Monday to personally present and award the approved Local Public Transport Plan of the city government of Zamboanga.

Mayor Beng Climaco announced this Thursday on “Dateline Teleradyo” over TV11 as she took pride in the recognition that Zamboanga City is second in Mindanao to be compliant with local public route plan.

She said Chairman Delgra will also preside over a dialogue with public transport drivers and other stakeholders relative to the implementation of the route plan.

However, the chief executive assured the drivers that there will be no phase-out to happen on Monday or during the plan’s implementation stage as this has to go through a study process by the University of the Philippines (UP) planners commissioned by the city government.

The local public route plan forms a guide for public vehicles operating in the city vis-à-vis their respective designated routes in a bid to efficiently and effectively address local traffic problems and modernize the public transport in the city.-(Vic Larato)
