As part of the celebration of the city’s 87 th Charter Day anniversary, the city government through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-9) conducts the Dia de Zamboanga Job Fair, February 19 to 21 at the KCC Mall Atrium Activity Center.
A total of 5,701 job vacancies – 3,977 overseas employment and 1,724 local job are up for grabs during the 3-day job fair, participated by 39 local companies and 6 international employers.
Mayor John Dalipe led the opening ceremony as he expressed his commitment to generating more job opportunities for the people of Zamboanga.
Each day of the job fair features a diverse range of employers from various industries, with the first day focusing on retail, hospitals, and schools; the second day on construction, hotels, manufacturing, pharmacies, and distributors; and the third day – hardware, fast food, pawnshops, and other industries.
Also present during the opening ceremony were DOLE IX Regional Director Albert Gutib, ZC Chief Labor and Employment Officer Ma. Elena Alabata, PESO Coordinator Stephanie Sta. Elena representing the PESO Manager and Asst. CHRMO Officer Jerico Jan Bustamante, PESO Focal ZC -Field Office 9 Corazon Fatima Fallorin, WMSU Job Placement Officer Nerlyne Conception, ZPPSU Job Placement Officer Ana Marie Gomez, and numerous others.
