Some 3,923 senior citizens from barangays Mampang, Tugbungan and Lunzuran receive their P1K quarterly cash incentive during distribution ceremonies spearheaded by Mayor John Dalipe Monday, February 5.
Forming part of the social amelioration program which Mayor Dalipe rolled out July, the financial assistance for the 3 barangays amounted to P8.455M.
Of the total number of recipients, 1,451 hail from Mampang, 1,597 from Tugbungan, and 875 from Lunzuran.
However, due to the large number of recipients, the distribution of the P1K quarterly cash assistance has been divided into two days, wherein 1,980 senior citizens received their financial assistance on Monday, while the remaining 1,943 are set to receive their assistance Tuesday, February 6.
This initiative is just one of the many ways of the local government of Zamboanga, in demonstrating its dedication to inclusivity and social welfare.
By prioritizing the needs of the elderly population, Dalipe aims to create a community that is supportive and caring for all its members, regardless of age and status.
Facilitating the distribution of the cash aid were personnel from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), paymasters from the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO), Barangay Officials, and Senior Citizen Officers.
Each beneficiary must bring both original and photocopy of their Senior Citizen I.D. in claiming the assistance. (Bernadeth Lazaro)
