Some 12,000 vacancies will be made available during the two-day job fair organized by the City Government’s Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in collaboration with other agencies from Oct. 17-18 at the KCC Mall activity center in Gov. Camins.
Dubbed Hermosa Job Fair, the 2-day event forms part of the post fiesta activities and is in line with Mayor Beng Climaco’s continuing employment program for Zamboangueños.
A total of 50 recruitment agencies – 35 overseas and 15 local, will be participating in the job fair. Of the over 12,000 job vacancies, some 2,000 will be for local employment.
Applicants may be high school graduates, senior high school graduates, TESDA Skills Training graduates or college graduates of any course. They must bring their resume and other pertinent documents and be in appropriate attire.
Apart from the job fair, there will also be employment coaching and pre-employment seminars for those who are interested. The public may also avail of free TESDA services like massage, manicure and pedicure including haircut.
The activity will be in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Philippine Overseas Employment Service Association (POEA).
Pre-registration is ongoing at the PESO at the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) in Pettit Barracks until October 16. (Sheila Covarrubias)
