In line with the City’s continuous efforts on Massive Rehabilitation and Enrichment Planting Program, the City Government of Zamboanga through the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR) spearheaded a tree planting and growing activity on May 27, 2023 at Sitio Muruk, Barangay Pasonanca, this city. 

Mayor John Dalipe commended the OCENR for continuously undertaking initiatives to protect and preserve the environment. The activity was participated by  more or less 500 individuals from national government agencies, local government offices, private sector, academe, non-government organizations (NGOs), and uniformed personnel. The participants have successfully planted 2,000 tree seedlings composed of Narra (Pterocarpus indicus), Nato (Palaquium luzoniense), and Palo Maria (Calophyllum Brasiliense).  

This tree planting and growing activity is also in line with the identified priority program of Mayor Dalipe to plant and grow one (1) Million trees.
