A 3.2-meter long reticulated python with a newly born python and 10 eggs rescued

A 3.2-meter long reticulated python with a newly born and 10 eggs was rescued on May 10, 2023, beside an abandoned swimming pool inside the rest house of Dr. Elmeir Apolinario, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer, at Barangay Cabaluay, this city.

The Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources (OCENR) personnel together with the personnel of Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR CENRO) Zamboanga City conducted the proper documentation and evaluation of the reticulated pythons.

Per the suggestion of DENR-CENRO, the reticulated python and the newly born python will be released to the wild while the eggs will undergo incubation until hatched.
