The USAID-Protect Wildlife Project the other day turned over complete sets of computer equipment to the OCENR and City Agriculturist Office as the operations center for anti-wildlife tracking task force and composite fishery law enforcement team, respectively. These equipment will help in the daily operations of these inter-agency units specifically in maintaining their data base, intended for recording, retrieving and analyzing data related to apprehensions, seizures and other information related to enforcing environmental and fishery laws in the city. At the same time, the USAID-Protect Wildlife Project through Dr. Reynaldo Navacilla also turned over environmental plans that were developed together with partners from the LGU with technical assistance from the USAID. The documents included the Zamboanga City Central Mangroves Framework, Ayala Watershed Management and Development Plan and Manicahan Watershed Management and Development Plan, Zamboanga City Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan and the Environment Code of the City of Zamboanga. Joining the mayor in receiving the documents and equipment were City Administrator Apple Go, Engr. Rey Gonzales of OCENR and reps from the City Agriculturist Office.
