The Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources integrated the Barangay Salaan Cooperative in the operation of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) on February 14. 

Technical staff of this office has conducted a brief orientation on solid waste management, safety measures, and the dos and don’ts prior to the operation. The cooperative was integrated purposely to conduct the sorting and recovery of recyclable waste materials prior to disposal to the landfill site. 

During the operation of the MRF, the members of the said cooperative recovered the recyclables materials and brought the biodegradable waste to the composting facility.
